Board Advisor

As a Board Advisor for MHAAA and its artists, I provide strategic guidance, governance, and expertise to support the mission, growth, and sustainability of creative initiatives. Key contributions include facilitating partnerships, enhancing community engagement, assist with procurring grant opportunities and sponsorships, promote advocacy through acting as a liaison with local communities and cultural organizations, encouraging collaboration and meaningful connections.

Spring Art Tour Leadership
MHAAA’s signature event, the Spring Art Tour, held annually, showcases local artists. As Executive Director / Program Manager and Technologist, I oversee the event’s logistics, technology integrations, and serve as the liaison with media outlets and partner organizations.

Technology Development

    • Refined MHAAA’s WordPress pages with a responsive design approach, ensuring optimal image loading speeds. Leveraged the Divi theme and libraries to provide consistency across the site.
    • Introduced Jotform for streamlined artist and sponsor applications, enabling efficient payments and reducing email overload.
    • Spearheaded the redesign of artist pages to better showcase their work (currently in progress).
    • Incorporated Google Maps APIs to create a dynamic, customized Spring Art Tour map highlighting artist locations.

Marketing & Content Strategy

  • Developed multimedia content for television, radio, and digital news outlets to promote events and initiatives
  • Created an AI-driven concept to enhance visitor engagement for the Spring Art Tour, enticing attendees to share their contact information for future marketing efforts.
  • Email marketing campaign oversight, design and delivery to artists, sponsors and interested parties.

    Museum Partnership
Working currently with the Mount Horeb Driftless Historium & Museum to curate and design an exhibition featuring local artifacts and artist interpretations. May 2025 launch.

    Art Fair Booth Display Judge
I had the honor of being one of the judges of the 2024 & 2025 Mount Horeb Art Fair booth experiences. As a judge I visited every display, critiquing on ingenuity, display, and quality of the art presented.

    Grant Procurement
Secured a grant from Microsoft to support MHAAA’s nonprofit initiatives, furthering its mission to promote the arts in the Mount Horeb area.

Through these efforts, I have helped MHAAA evolve into a more digitally savvy and operationally efficient organization, strengthening its ability to connect artists with the community and expand its reach.

Television Advertisement for the Spring Art Tour
I developed a 12-second television advertisement to build excitement and awareness for the Spring Art Tour among a broader audience. This project required precision in storytelling, ensuring maximum impact within a concise timeframe.

Social Media Videos for Spring Art Tour Call for Artists and Tour Promotion
To promote the artist prospectus for the Spring Art Tour and the tour itself, I conceptualized and developed engaging social media videos designed to inspire and engage potential artist participants and tour attendee audiences. Vandehoney

Vandehoney, a small apiary and producer of raw honey nestled in the Vermont Valley of Black Earth, Wisconsin, is dedicated to sustainable practices and earthly preservation. Vandehoney is our family business, and I wear many hats — idea maker, designer, technologist, marketer, accountant.

    Evolution of a Brand
The journey of Vandehoney exemplifies the seamless merging of entrepreneurship with both the physical and digital realms. This evolution highlights how a brand can find its unique voice and purpose, embodying the values of sustainability, craftsmanship, and connection to nature. I crafted the Vandehoney brand identity and messaging to embody an earthy, organic tone that reflects the producers’ values and commitment to nature.
Our logo is based on a satirical print  c. 1692 or 1706,  with use of the print granted by the British Museum.

A Breath of Fresh Art: logo and print design

For A Breath of Fresh Art: Democracy in Life and Art, I created a compelling graphic design and logo identity representative of the event’s goal as one of focusing on themes of creativity, freedom, and community engagement. I collaborated with the event organizers to define a color palette that I then used to design a visually striking logo that embodied the event’s core values of inclusivity, self-expression, and democratic ideals in both life and art and resonated with the target audience. I designed a promotional postcard incorporating the color palette and logo. Through thoughtful design, I helped establish a strong visual identity for the event, effectively communicating its purpose and inspiring meaningful connections between the arts and democratic principles.

Spring Green General Store: Strategy, Design, Dev

The Spring Green General Store, a thriving business known for its charming café, whimsical retail space, and popular Shopify online store, needed a modernized web presence. The store also hosts two renowned outdoor music festivals, BobFest in May and BeatleFest in September, attracting musicians and fans from across Wisconsin to celebrate Bob Dylan and the Beatles.

    Challenge:
The existing website was outdated and lacked integration with the store’s expansive social media presence, a key channel for engaging its audience. Additionally, the site’s design did not accommodate the mobile-first habits of tourists, the store’s primary clientele.

    Approach:

    • Strategy Session: Conducted a comprehensive session with the owner to define priorities for the store’s web presence and identify opportunities to seamlessly integrate social media messaging.
    • Responsive Redesign: Developed a fully responsive website using the Divi theme on WordPress, ensuring a mobile-friendly experience tailored for tourists using smartphones to navigate their visit.
    • Enhanced User Experience: Crafted a clean, engaging interface to highlight the store’s café, retail offerings, online shopping, and music festivals.

    Result:
The redesigned website successfully aligned with the store’s brand identity, improved usability for mobile users, and effectively integrated social media channels to enhance customer engagement. This modernized platform positions the Spring Green General Store to better serve its diverse audience while celebrating its unique character and events.
